Money Mother

In Tampa Florida, a mother robbed a house while her child was in the car. She has been charged for child neglection and and burglary. She left the child in 93 degree weather and no air conditioning on, with the windows partially down. The mother broke in by a sliding glass door. She was arrested Monday, but this isn’t the first time she has tried to make a break-in. In her past she has been charged with child-abuse and domestic violence. The mother asked what the cops wanted and told them she didn’t want her child, while she is in jail, her child is being taken away from her, and hopefully will find a good home.

Why is it ok to go around and start throwing trash wherever you want? HELLO! That’s what garbage cans are for! I was on the beach one day and saw a sea turtle, it had something in his mouth, it was plastic. I felt so bad for it, and wanted to help it, but I couldn’t it was to far out. It’s the same thing that happens everyday, a bird with a plastic fork, or a beaver with a metal pole instead of stick (just examples.) but do you think that it should be ok and throw what you don’t need on the ground? Animals all over the world suffer from that, when they shouldn’t have to. They don’t know any better, but we should! So don’t litter!!

Boohoo Swine Flu!

Swine Flu is all over the U.S. and in Europe. People are protecting themselves by masks in Europe. But we shouldn’t have to take that unnecessary step. Frequent hand washing doesn’t help anything unless you want the swine flu. More hand washing should be done. If you are sick and you are positive about that then you definitely need to stay home. And if you aren’t feeling well and supposed to be traveling on plane, DON’T. Areas in the world that has not yet been contaminated should do the every little things we should do everyday to keep clean. There have been 20 cases in the U.S. that has swine flu, everyone recovered and no one died. A concern right now is people traveling where the virus has occurred. If a person catches it and brings it back to the U.S. Someone else may catch it, and then they could bring it to the U.S. and it may go everywhere! To wash your face is a good way to protect yourself from the virus. Flu Vaccines don’t help right now for this virus, so protect yourself and do the simple things that keep you clean.

Earth Day!

Help out on April 22 on Earth Day. You can turn off your electronics and your lights (ect.) for 1 whole hour. Everyone around the world will be participating. Also that day people will be making organic meals and recycling everything they can! People are collecting up compost from their meals and reusing the food for plants. If you have any lamps, unplug them, or your cell phone chargers. You can make a difference, and you can try to do it longer than an hour if you would like, but I will be doing it an hour or 2. Help Out!

Pirate Patrol

Pirates have stolen a freighter this Tuesday, also earlier that day they had taken a greek-owned bulk carrier in Europe. The crew of the carrier are so far unharmed and safe. In Somalia they have a crew partoling the area, so no theft happens. They have 4 ships that cover more than a 1 million square miles. Pirates attacked a U.S flagged Maersk last week. They captured the captain and kept him as their hostage on a life boat. U.S. navy snipers killed three of the pirates rescued the captain and arrested the fourth pirate. Zoinks!!!! The authorities are deciding what to do with their captive, who may be as young as 16. Wowiwowwow! The captain headed to Kenya where some of the military members are relaxing. These pirates are crazy!

Earthquake Victims

In central Italy an earthquake hit, search teams found no more survivors. Everyone is buried under, now the destroyed city. More than 200 hundred bodies were found and some were unidentified. The search teams are not giving up until they find everyone at least alive or dead, they have put the search on for two more days. More than 20,000 human beings have to survive in their tents at night, and deal with the weather ahead of them. The rest who have the money to afford to stay in a more safe area are staying in hotels. About 28,000 Italians are left homeless. The fight for survival for them is scarce. And they still have to find a way to live in the economy

People in Danger!

The Red River had increased the amount of water since 1897, it has gone up 10 inches. Not only has there been an increase in the amount of water, there is supposed to be 10 inches of snow to increase the amount more. People have been alerted to evacuate the situation, but people have refused. They say ” we have put to much work into our town to let it ruin.” If they do not evacuate soon they will be with the ruins of the town. There has been 6 inches of water in some peoples basement and garages, but today(Monday) the water is supposed to be below 41 inches. People are getting their hopes high, but children can still not go to school, because there is water in side the buildings. Adults and teenagers can’t go to work because the buildings are full of water, how are they supposed to pay bills? Here is a suggestion evacuate!

Erica Hill!

I have been keeping up with Erica Hill. She is an Anchor/Reporter and works with Anderson Cooper. She is on CNN’s station and she is on at 9:50 a.m.(I watch her on the weekends.) She presents her news by listing the serious news first and then she goes down to the minor news. I chose her because she is serious about her job, and it’s important to her to do the best she can, and I think everyone should have that type of attitude towards their work. I learned that what you do you always learn something new!

Caspian Seal

The Caspian Seal was thought to have been numbered more than a million, now they have gone down about 90%. They have now been listed as endangered, in the polar regions. The seal lives in the Capian Sea, that’s where it got it’s name. These seals have been contaminated with disease, from pollution and strangled by fishing nets.
